A thousand Gods and the Micro chip meet here in Rangareddy District. Located in the rocky Deccan landscape in Central India, adjacent to the capital of Andhra Pradesh, the Rangareddy District is spread over 7000 sq.km, and has been the meeting ground for various civilizations and religions through the ages. And today it is the fastest growing District in the State, perhaps in the Country. Woven into its landscape are the most ancient and the most modern of structures - some made by myth and mystery and the others the handiwork of man. Drenched in the aura of the mythical and the mystical are the places like Keesaragutta, Maheshwaram and Anantagiri in the RR District. The Shiva temples in the area belong to great antiquity and even the beautiful lakes that dot the District have about them a hundred legends of yore. In utter contrast to
the antiquity and mystery are the giant modern structures built by man. The Hi-tech City with its conglomerate of global IT giants like the IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Motorola etc.,the IIIT, the upcoming Knowledge Park, the National Institute of Fashion Technology, the crafts village Shilparamam, all show case man's ingenuity and skill.

  • HISTORY:

Rangareddy District, formerly known as K. V. Ranga Reddy District and Hyderabad (Rural) District, is a district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It was formed in 1978 when it was split from Hyderabad district. The district has an area of 7,493 km², and a population of 3,575,064 of which 54.20% is urban as of 2001.The district encircles the city and district of Hyderabad, and the city of Hyderabad also serves as the administrative center of the district. It is the most populous district of Andhra Pradesh (out of 23).


  • Demographics:


According to the 2011 census Ranga Reddy District has a population of 5,296,396, roughly equal to the nation of Finland or the US state of Minnesota. This gives it a ranking of 17th in India (out of a total of 640). The district has a population density of 707 inhabitants per square kilometre (1,830 /sq mi) .Its population growth rate over the decade 2001-2011 was 48.15%.Rangareddy has a sex ratio of 955 females for every 1000 males, and a literacy rate of 78.05%.

Distance from Hyderabad :24kms. '' Sagar '' meaning ocean in Sanskrit is descriptive of this massive expanse of water.   • Shamirpet Lake:

  • Maheshwaram:



Distance from Hyderabad : 40 kms.The lord of destruction and resurrection of the Hindu trinity, Lord Shiva reigns supreme among the ruins left by the ravages of time and man. Besides the main temple, Maheshwaram has two fortresses - Shiva Ganga and Vishnu Ganga, the Kacheri house of Akkanna and Madanna, famous ministers of Bhaktha Ramdas era, the Kodanda Ramalayam, and the Shivaji Durgam. Every edifice here bears the imprint of more than 500 years of history. Making an unforgettable impression on the mind's eye are the exquisite and detailed sculptures in the many temples here.
